Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin (1809-1882) was an English naturalist, geologist, and biologist best known for his contributions to the theory of evolution. His seminal work, "On the Origin of Species," published in 1859, introduced the concept of natural selection as a mechanism for evolution. Darwin's research and observations during his voyage on the HMS Beagle laid the foundation for modern evolutionary biology.
