Thomas Paine

Thomas Paine (1737-1809) was born in Thetford, England, and later became a prominent political activist and writer in the Kingdom of Great Britain. He is best known for his influential works advocating for independence and democratic ideals, including "Common Sense" and "The Rights of Man." Paine spent his later years in Greenwich Village, New York City.
